Our children’s school day begins at 7.30am and ends at 7pm. It is generally organised around their interests, respecting them and celebrating them. For this reason, the following programme is not intended as a rigid daily plan, but simply an attempt to describe a typical day for our children:
08:00 - 09:45
Morning reception to welcome children. The day starts with free play then the “CIRCLE” activities commence where we greet each other and describe our experiences the previous day: this way we familiarise the children with the concept of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
10:00 - 10:45
After washing our hands, the cook serves a small fruit-based snack.
10:45 - 12:00
The educators lead with a series of structured activities. A different one every day! The children can choose from manipulation, painting, decanting, constructions, music or psychomotor games.
12:00 - 13:30
Lunch presents a time for some important social interaction. Afterwards, we go to the bathroom in small groups to learn to wash our hands, mouth and teeth by ourselves.
13:30 - 15:00
Some of our friends go home while others remain for a nap. Each child has their own camp bed, made with their own sheets brought from home and any soft toys or favourite blankets. Soft music and the reassuring presence of the educators are a critical part of this time of day. The very smallest fall asleep, tired out after their stimulating morning, while the older ones relax as they contemplate the games to follow.
15:00 - 15:30
The tots are woken up with cuddles and soft music then reunited with their friends in time for a tasty baked treat made by our cook or some yoghurt, cereal or other healthy snack.
16:00 - 18:00
We say goodbye to the children going home and prepare for our afternoon games, like DIY, creative workshops, painting, etc.
18:00 - 18:30
Evening departure for all children.
